Nina Russell

Nina M. Russell, passed from this life on Tuesday, Aug. 21, 2012, into the loving arms of her Lord. Nina was 84 years old.She was born in Cordele, Ga., but lived the last 60 years in Chattanooga. Nina was employed with East Ridge Hospital for 18 years before her retirement. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church.Nina was preceded in death by her parents, Howell Samuel Spradley and Ida Mae Nutt Spradley; her husband, John A. Russell, whom she was married to for 31 years and nine siblings.She is survived by her nieces, Carolyn Ducote and Wanda Mathis; nephews, Lonnie (Brenda) Godfrey and Harry (Dale) Godfrey, all of Cordele, Ga.; special friends, David Buckner, of Nashville and Sarah Burkhalter, of Chattanooga.The family would like to express their appreciation to Hospice of Chattanooga for the loving care shown to Nina while she was with them.The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. today at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.Graveside services for Nina will follow at 2 p.m. today at Hamilton Memorial Gardens with Pastor Paul Crosby officiating.Please share your thoughts and memories at www.chattanooganorthchapel.comArrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist.
