Sr.PINE MOUNTAIN James Michael "Mike" Romedy Sr., 70, died Wednesday, Aug. 15, 2012, at the West Georgia Medical Center, LaGrange, Ga.Mr. Romedy was born Sept. 4, 1941 in Jacksonville, Fla., the son of James Riley Romedy Jr. and Gladys Gissendanner Romedy. He was an insurance safety officer with Regional Reporting Services. Mr. Romedy graduated from Mercer University in Atlanta and a member of First United Methodist Church, Oyster Creek, Texas.He was preceded in death by his wife, Chattanooga native, Nancy Susan Cornett Romedy.Survivors include his son, James Michael Romedy Jr. (Jim Pippin Romedy), of Lancaster, Calif.; brother, Tim Romedy, Bay City, Texas; and sister, Karen Apps, of Jacksonville, Fla.In lieu of flowers contributions may be given in memory of Mike Romedy to the National Firefighters Fund.Memorial services for Mr. Romedy were 3 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, 2012, in the Chapel of Cox Funeral Home, Hamilton.Please sign the online register at www.coxfh.com.Cox Funeral Home, Hamilton, Ga., in charge of arrangements.
