ROSSVILLE Carroll "Whit" Erskine Whitmire, 76, passed away Saturday, Dec. 1, 2012, at a local hospital. He was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga, North Georgia area. Survivors are wife of 54 years, June Ray Tennant; daughters, Athena (Jerry) Walker, Ringgold, Venus Dixon, Ringgold, Desiree Hatch, Hixson; sister, Myrna Rooks, Fort Oglethorpe; grandchildren, Nicholas and Eric (Mandy) Masterson, Drew and Ashley Walker, and Christian and Kadie Hatch; great-grandchildren, Emry and Ella Masterson.Funeral services will be 1 p.m., Tuesday Dec. 4, in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Vincent Estill officiating.
