Haskel Ritchie, 85, of Chattanooga, passed away on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012, peacefully at home with his family. He had lived in the Chattanooga area for most of his life and was of the Baptist faith. He was a WWII veteran having served in the U.S. Army and was a loving and peaceful man who was fully dedicated to his wife and family. His lifes joy was being outside in the dirt planting fruits and vegetables. His past hobbies included fishing and hunting both of which were shared with his wife. To know him was to know a truly great man. Those who loved him will forever miss him.He was preceded in death by his wife, of 44 years, Iretta Ritchie; and son Don Hunter.Loving survivors include his daughter, Connie Hunter; two sons and daughters-in-law, Bobby and Olivia Yarbrough, Ronald and Shirley Yarbrough; six granddaughters, Starlena Thomason, Vanessa Epperson, Rhonda Pendry, Kim Rohland, Angela Richardson, Toni Dodson; two grandsons, Bobby Yarbrough Jr., Gary Yarbrough; 17 great-grandchildren."I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in Me, though he may die, he shall live." John 11:25Graveside services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
