Agnes Hodge

Agnes Hodge, 83, of Signal Mountain, passed away on Monday, Dec. 3, 2012.Agnes grew up in Charleroi, Belgium. After WWII, she and her family moved to Brazil. It was in Brazil that she met and married John Henry Hodge in 1955. She moved to the United States in 1968 with her husband and their two children. She and John have lived at Alexian Village for the past 7 years.Agnes had many passions during her life. The first was her family. She was a loving daughter and sister, and a devoted wife and mother. She enjoyed many activities throughout her life. Cooking, gardening, wine making and painting were among her favorites. She will be remembered by her family and friends as a devoted Catholic, gentle in her ways, and steadfast in her convictions.Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, Albert and Simone Biot; and her two brothers, Jean and Jacque Biot. Survivors include her beloved husband, John; their two children, Stephen Hodge and Anita Burkard; three sisters, Francine, Marie-Paule and Nicole; brother, Geraldo; three grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held 11:15 a.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, in the Alexian Village Chapel.
