David Carney

David "Big Dave" Giles Carney, 41, passed away Friday, Nov. 23, 2012.He was born Feb. 23, 1971 in Chattanooga, to Robert and Ruby Giles Carney. Mr. Carney was a resident of Santa Rosa Beach. He graduated from Hixson High School in Hixson, where he lettered in football, baseball, wrestling and basketball. He enjoyed scuba diving, motorcycling and especially spending time with his wife and dogs.Mr. Carney is survived by his wife, Kelly Jacobs, of Santa Rosa Beach, Fla..; parents, Bob and Ruby Carney, of Hixson; sister, Sonja Herring; brothers, Seth and Don Hutchins; sister-in-law, Laurie Carle of Colorado.A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Red Bank Baptist Church.Announcement is by Williamson and Sons Funeral Home, 8852 Dayton Pike, Soddy-Daisy, TN 37379.
