Anne Madeline Joerger Radlein, 95, of Chattanooga, went to be with our Lord Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012 after a period of extended illness. She was born in Dubuque, Iowa on April 12, 1917 to the late Carl Joerger and Frances Fisher Joerger. She was the wife of the late Elmer V. Radlein for 51 years. Survivors include her son, Steven Radlein of Summerville, S.C.; daughter, Edith Pippin, of Hixson; seven grandchildren, Mark Radlein, of Greer, S.C., Todd Radlein, of Summerville, S.C., Christopher Radlein, of Jeffersonville, Ind., Mindy Wilson, of Summerville, S.C., Eric Pippin, of Knightdale, N.C., Alan Pippin of Columbus, Miss., and Amanda Pippin, of Hixson; nine great-grandchildren, Peighton, Morgan, Hannah, Landon, Collin, Kevin and Carson Radlein and Brett Claycamp and Haley Graham. She was the last in a family of seven including brothers, Carl, Joseph, Otto, Robert, James and Patrick; Only sisters-in-law, Lucille and Julie remain with Helen, Violet, Norma, Margaret and Julie being deceased. There are 18 nieces and nephews.In her professional career, she was head of the Payroll Department of the Wheland Company until her retirement. She was an accomplished Bridge Player and Gardner.
