John Riha

CHICKAMAUGA John F. Riha, 85, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012 in a local hospital.Mr. Riha was a native of Manhattan, NY, spent many years in California before moving to Chickamauga in 1994. He was a member of the Chattanooga Valley Baptist Church, a U.S. Navy veteran, and was employed as a stone mason for many years. Mr. Riha enjoyed woodworking, painting, and fishing, and was preceded in death by his parents, Albert Stanley and Louise Hemann Riha;daughter, Virginia Rowley; and brother, Albert Stanley Riha, Jr.Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Minnie Mae Riha; children, Cecil and James Menasco, Shelly Crawford, Sherry Eychaner, Juanita Solomon, and John H. Riha; seventeen grandchildren, several great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 11, at 1:30 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Pastor Billy Jacks officiating. Interment will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery with military honors.
