Norma Leffler

Norma Brothers Leffler passed away on Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, on Signal Mountain at the age of 97.She was born and educated in Oklahoma and was a beloved teacher in Nowata, Okla. Public Schools. She was a member of the state board of Excellence in Education and was honored in 2005 by the Oklahoma Retired Educators Association as a Person of Distinction.She was a long time active member of the First Christian (Disciples) Church in Nowata, serving as a Sunday school teacher and Elder.She was preceded in death by her husband, L.A. "Sam" Leffler in 1983.She is survived by her children, Gerre (Douglas) Schwert, of Signal Mountain and John (Sandra) Leffler, of Owasso, Okla.; six grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.The family of Mrs. Leffler wishes to gratefully acknowledge the excellent care and services provided by Margaret, Rosie, Wendy and Rhonda of Avalon Hospice.Following cremation with Lane Funeral Home, a memorial service will be held at a later date at First Christian Church in Nowata, Okla.Memorial contributions may be made to the church at 211 South Pine, Nowata, OK 74048.Visit www.lanefh.com to share condolences.Arrangements by Lane Funeral Home, Ashland Terrace 877-3524.
