SPRINGCITY Thomas Earl Clayton, 85, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012 in Life Care of Rhea County.He was a lifelong resident of Rhea County, of the Baptist faith, a Veteran of the U.S. Navy World War II, a member of the American Legion 100.Preceded in death by his wife of 39 years, Wilma Clayton; parents, Jack and Katie Sarah Melinda Caroline Hill Clayton; one brother, Raymond Clayton; three sisters, Agnes Rose, Nellie Sue and Marilyn Jo Clayton.Survivors are his wife, Mary Jones Clayton, of Spring City; one daughter, Teresa (Dewayne) Guffey; two sons, Tommy (Vickie) Clayton, Ronnie (Shirley) Clayton; three stepchildren, Timothy (Susan) Jones, Deborah (Buddy) Jackson, Jeffrey Jones; three sisters, Louise (Bud) Ritchey, Suvilla (Leonard) Clark, Carolyn Sheble; sister-in-law, Bobbie June Clayton; two brothers, Broyles (Alice) Clayton, bobby Gene (Vivian) Clayton 11 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.Services: 11 a.m. today, Dec. 11, in the chapel of Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home with Pastor Paul Forgey officiating.Interment: Rhea Memory Gardens.Please visit www.coultergarrisonfuneralhome.com to share condolences.Arrangements by Coulter-Garrison Funeral Home Inc., Dayton, TN 37321.
