, Jr.RINGGOLD James Vance Harvey, Jr., 64, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Dec. 14, 2012. He had lived in the Chattanooga and North Georgia areas for most of his life and was of the Baptist faith. He was a Marine Corp. Veteran who served in Vietnam and was awarded the Purple Heart. He enjoyed working on cars, fishing as much as possible and was a loving and devoted father, who will be greatly missed by all that knew him.He was preceded in death by his parents, J.V. and Unave Harvey, Sr. and brother, Charles Harvey.Survivors include his two sons and daughter-in-law, James "J.J." and (Kristy) Harvey, of Ringgold, Ga., and Jonathan Harvey, of Dayton, Tenn.; daughter, Cassie Turner, of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga.; brother, Frankie Harvey, of Wildwood, Ga.; sister, Patricia Harvey, of Chattanooga, Tenn.; 7 grandchildren, Alyssa, Bronson and Daisia Sewell, Leaunna Turner, Jamie Harvey, Whitney Strickland and Brandi Strickland-Jobe; great-grandchild, Alexis Jobe and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 18, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Bro. Cecil Hawkins officiating. Burial will follow in the Chattanooga National Cemetery. The family will begin receiving friends after 5 p.m. today, all day Monday and prior to the service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Arrangements by W. L.
