Louise Shields

SPRING CITY Louise Shields, 100, of Franklin, Tenn. and formerly of Spring City, died Monday, Dec. 17, 2012.Born in Pulaski, Miss., Louise was the daughter of the late Henry Wallace and Edna Wynham Morehead. She and her husband, Jesse, moved from Greenville, Ky. to the Spring City community in 1971. Louise was a floral designer and owned and operated The Village Florist in Spring City for many years. She was a former member of the Spring City Womans Club and served as regional director of the PennyRoyal Counsel of Girls Scouts of America in Kentucky. Louise was an avid seamstress and she enjoyed quilting, knitting and crocheting as well. She shared her talents with many. Louise was a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Spring City and was very active in the church. Following the death of her husband, Louise moved to Franklin, Tenn., to be close to her daughter.Louise was preceded in death by her husband Jesse Gaston Shields; and sister Erma Lee Brooks.Survivors include her daughters Aledia (Gary) McDonald, of Franklin, Tenn., and Jessica Shields Flowers, of Charleston, S.C.; grandchildren, Mindy Chaffin, Lanette Jauregui, Jay Flowers and Jesse Flowers; and seven great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. today at the First Presbyterian Church of Spring City with Rev.
