Leah Hendrix

LaFAYETTE Leah Fugate Hendrix, 97, passed away Monday, Jan. 9, 2012.She was born to the late Walter and Virginia Morrison Fugate in Durham, Ga. on Feb. 5, 1914. Mrs. Hendrix was a retired seamstress with Belk Department Store and a member of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church.She was preceded in death by her husband, John Robert Hendrix Sr.; daughter, Cynthia Claire Hendrix; and several brothers and sisters.Survivors include her son, John R. (Anita) Hendrix; daughters, Elizabeth Ann Hendrix Miles (Robert) Hill and Virginia Lynn Hendrix Barnes; seven grandchildren; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.The family will receive friends at the funeral home at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday with the Memorial service to follow at 2 p.m.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Saint Jude Childrens Hospital 501 St. Jude Place Memphis, TN 38105.Online guestbook available at www.wilsonfuneralhome.com.Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Homes, LaFayette Chapel.
