Shirley Rowe

DAYTON Shirley Ann Rowe, 69, passed Friday morning, Jan. 20, 2012, at Rhea Medical Center in Dayton.Shirley was born in Henry, Tenn., on May 26, 1942 the daughter of the late Edward and Jewell Haynes Cates. Shirley earned her bachelor of science degree at Lane College in Jackson, Tenn., and then earned her masters degree in science at UT-Martin. For over 42 years Shirley was employed as a teacher and guidance counselor. She was a former secretary of the Modernette Club in Dayton and an active member of Mount Olive United Methodist Church where she had served as secretary and sang in the choir.She is survived by her daughter, Louise Rowe, of Dayton; granddaughter, Khamiah Laramore, of Dayton; grandson, Greg Capps, of Nashville; brother, G.E. Haynes, of Henry; sisters, Hazel "Juanita" Banks, of Indianapolis, Ind., Cleo Webb, of McKenzie; and special friend, William Downs, of Dayton.Funeral services for Shirley will be held Tuesday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Annette Warren and Rev.
