Velma Irwin

Velma C. Irwin, 85, of Chattanooga, passed away Monday, Jan. 23, 2012, at her residence.She was manager at Jazzy Casuals in the mid seventies and worked at Brainerd Hills Baptist Church Child Nursery for many years as well as caring for many children in her home. She was a long time member of TOPS (Take off pounds sensibly).Surviving relatives; daughter Kay Irwin (Danny) Brooks, of Chattanooga; grandchildren, Jason (Carolyn) Brooks, Amanda Brooks (Stephen) Shipp; great-grandchildren, Madison and Garrett Shipp, Whitley Pendergrass, Layla Brooks; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 26, 2012, at Heritage Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. Richard Mason and Elder Don Burkhalter, officiating.The interment will follow in Plowman Cemetery.Visit www.heritagefh.com to share words of comfort to the family and view the memorial tribute.Special thank you to, Shelia, Lorri, Buddy and Jeff with Hospice of ChattanoogaFor their kind loving care.
