Terry Crittenden

James Terrell "Terry" Crittenden, 72, of East Ridge, passed away, Thursday, July 5, 2012, at home with his family around him.He was a member of East Ridge Baptist Church. Mr. Crittenden was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta Martin Crittenden; parents, Henry Clay Crittenden and Evelyn Hay Crittenden, of Chattanooga; maternal grandparents, James B. Hay and Lena Dearing Hay, of Cleveland.Survivors include his son, Thomas Terrell Crittenden and his daughter, Charmaine Jean Crittenden, of East Ridge; his sister, Jean Crittenden Pace and husband, Ed Pace, of Rogersville; and his nieces, nephews, and brother in-law Ronald H. Martin, of Cedar Bluff, Ala.Terry was born Nov. 25th, 1939 in Cleveland Tenn. Graduated from Central High School in Chattanooga, attended Tennessee Tech in Cookeville, where he was a founding members of the R.O. T.C group "The Rebel Rifles". Terry also served his country with honorable discharges from the Aarmy, Navy and Air Force.Terry retired from TVA as Chief of Security in 1985, then went on to start his own company, James T. Crittenden Trucking.In his later years, Terry enjoyed camping with all of his friends at Chester Frost State Park.Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. today, at Chattanooga Funeral Home East Chapel.Graveside services will be on at 1:30 p.m. Monday, July 9, in Chattanooga National Cemetery with full military honors.In lieu of flowers please make your donations to Hospice of Chattanooga or the National Cancer Society.Please share your condolences at www.chattanoogaeastchapel.com.Arrangements are by the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 404 S.
