Kathryn Choate

DAYTON Kathryn Bryan Choate, 93, died Friday afternoon, July 13, 2012, at her home.She was born Nov. 9, 1918 in Amity, Ark., to the late W.C. and Clara Ligon Allen. She was also preceded in death in 2002 by her husband of 64 years, Mark Wade Choate; and a grandson, Mark Wade Choate III.A resident of Dayton for more than 30 years, Kathryn was a homemaker and was active with the Garden Club, the Readers Club and was a member of the Eastern Star in Arkansas. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Dayton.She is survived by her sons, Bruce (Kathe) Choate, of Lido Island, Calif., and Mark (Cindy) Choate, of Palos Verdes Estates, Calif.; four grandchildren, Courtney (Mike) Knapp, of Valencia, Calif., Kaysie (Gary) Fitzpatrick, of Coto de Caza, Calif., Blake (Catlin) Choate, of Corona Del Mar, Calif., and Ewan Choate, of Newport Beach, Calif.; and four great-grandchildren, Michael Knapp and Haley Knapp, Valencia, Calif., and Mark Fitzpatrick and Erin Fitzpatrick, of Coto de Caza, Calif. Funeral services for Kathryn will be 11 a.m. Thursday at Dayton First United Methodist Church with Rev. Ryan Moore and Rev. Ken Pierce officiating.
