Mitchell Strawbridge

ROSSVILLE Mitchell Strawbridge, 73, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, July 18, 2012.He had lived in the North Georgia area for most of his life and was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Ooltewah. He was previously employed with Estes Equipment Co. as a Gas Pump Mechanic for more than 26 years and was a loving and devoted, husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all that knew him.He was preceded in death by his parents, Elbert and Early Mae Strawbridge; wife, Cathy Laura Strawbridge and two sisters, Ardie and Vedmer.Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Travis and Flora Strawbridge of Ringgold, Ga.; daughter, Courtney Pittman of Rossville; two brothers, Charlie Strawbridge of Birmingham, Ala., and James Strawbridge, of Breeman, Ala.; three sisters, Pearl Curvin, of Vinemont, Ala., Gertrude Sellers, of Tampa, Fla., and Vida Duke, of Summerville, Ala.; four grandchildren, Kaleb, Makayla, Zackary and Xander; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at noon Saturday, July 21, 2012 in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with the Rev. James Langston officiating.Burial will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.The family will begin receiving friends after 4 p.m. today, all day Friday and prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home.Arrangements by W.L.
