Virginia Mae Lewis, of Chattanooga, passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012 in the hospice care center. She was a faithful member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church and retired from Weiser Company.She was preceded in death by her husband, James Lewis; parents, Ernest and Mattie Hogg, Sr.; brothers, Ernest, Jr., Nealie, Sr., Ealie and Earl Hogg. Survivors include one son, Eddie Peebles, of Chattanooga; daughter, Veronica Peebles, of Ooltewah; granddaughter, Raven Smith; brother, Dr. Robert (Charlene) Hogg, Sr., of Kingsport, Tenn.; sisters, Grace Simmons and Wilhemenia Hogg, both of Chattanooga; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends. A very special thank you to Hospice of Chattanooga for the exceptional care given to her, and for the comfort and support shown to the family.Visitation will be today from 6-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home. Funeral service will be Tuesday July 24, at 11 a.m. at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church with Pastor Wayne Johnson as the eulogist. Burial: Chattanooga National Cemetery.
