Eugene Wooten

Eugene Wooten, 82, of Chattanooga, went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Tuesday, July 24, 2012.He was born on Dec. 15, 1929, son of the late Walter and Beulah Wooten. Mr. Wootens military career spanned 40 years. He was a veteran of the United States Army, a veteran of the Korean Conflict, and served in the National Guard and the Army Reserve. He retired as a Master Sergeant. He and his late wife, Gayle Wooten, owned and operated Silk Originals of East Brainerd for over 20 years.Preceded in death by his wife, Gayle Wooten; brother, Truman Wooten.Survived by daughter, Connie (David) Wetter, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; grandson, Daniel Wetter; daughters from a previous marriage, Darlene Center of Chattanooga and Pam Thompson, of Graysville; sisters-in-law, Lee Ann (Bobby) Parker, of Chattanooga and Sandra (Ben) Steele, of Flat Rock, Ala.; brother-in-law, Sam (Berniece) Tate, of East Brainerd; nephew, Jim Tate, of Chattanooga and great-nephew, Fletcher Tate, of Chattanooga.Graveside services with military honors will be conducted at 1 p.m. today, July 26, 2012, at Lakewood Memory Gardens, East, with Rev.
