Benjamin Fredrick Wine, 87, of McDonald, Tenn., went home to be with the Lord Thursday, July 26, 2012.Ben was born in Logan, Ohio, and had been a resident of the Chattanooga area since 1968. He served his country in the United States Navy during World War II and was of the Baptist faith. He was a member of Plumbers Union for over 50 years and retired from Local 43.He was an avid fisherman all of his life and in his younger years, he and his wife, Norma loved to hunt deer.Ben was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, Norma Wine; daughter, Carol Ann Wine; stepson, Paul Boyd Sr. and his parents, Daniel and Betsy Jane Wine.Survivors include his son, Fred (Madlyn) Wine; daughter-in-law, Brenda Boyd; two grandchildren, Ben (Ally) Wine and Josh Wine; four stepgrandchildren, Paul (Denise) Boyd Jr., Pamela (Brian) Hamby, Melanie (Dennis) Pedigo and Janel (Robert) Ridge; six great-grandchildren; 10 stepgreat grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many friends.The family will receive friends from 4 until 8 p.m. today, July 28, at the North Chapel.Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home.
