Lonnie Gravitt

CHICKAMAUGA Lonnie Leonard Gravitt, 75, passed away Saturday, June 2, 2012.He was a lifelong resident of the Chickamauga area and was of the Baptist faith. He had worked as a Machinist for most of his life at several different manufacturing plants and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather, who will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was preceded in death by his parents, Earl T. and Thelma Gravitt; daughter, Roxanna Gravitt; and two sisters, Marie Gravitt and Peggy Chambers.Survivors include his loving wife of more than 58 years, Jo Ann Gravitt; three children, Ricky Gravitt, Randy Gravitt and Renva Gravitt. all of Chickamauga, Ga.; brother, Gary Gravitt, of East Ridge; four sisters, Betty Underhill, of Lakeview, Ga., and Linda Morgan, Charlotte Newsom and Kathy Sheivelhud, all of Fort Oglethorpe; nine grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. today, June 5, 2012 in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. today at the funeral home.Arrangements by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Homes, Fort Oglethorpe.
