John Penney

ALBERTVILLE John W. Penney accepted the kind invitation of his Lord and Savior to join him in heaven on Wednesday, June 6, 2012.He was born in Soddy, Tenn., on June 12, 1940 and currently resided in Albertville at the time of his death He was the son of the late Aaron and Elizabeth Penney. He graduated from Central High School in 1958, and served in the Air Force. He was a long term employee of Goodyear Tire and Rubber in Akron, Ohio and Gadsden, Ala. At the time of his passing he was employed by Wal-Mart.Remaining to cherish his memory is his wife of 48 years, Dixie L. Penney; son, Michael Penney; daughter, Shannon Marler; grandson, Aaron Marler; and one sister, Laura Richardson and niece, Donna Richardson; and numerous cousins.Funeral service will be at Albertville Memorial Chapel at 2 p.m. CDT on Saturday, June 9.The body will lie in state one hour before the service on Saturday for family and friends.
