Lorene Richardson

Lorene Richardson, 72, departed this earthly life Friday, June 1, 2012.She was born March 18, 1940 to the late Leonard and Marie Pettigrew Robinson. She was one of ten children.On January 17, 1960, Marvin and Lorene were united in Holy Matrimony. God blessed their union with three dearly loved sons.Lorene accepted Christ in her life at an early age at Westside Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school for 13 years. She later moved her membership to Olivet Baptist Church.Lorene also loved sharing the good news about Jesus Christ at Eastdale Recreation Center where she volunteered and taught Bible to the children.Lorene worked for the Hamilton County Schools and retired in January 1998 after 30 years of service. Lorene Richardson was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin T. Richardson.Lorene Richardson leaves to cherish her memories, her sons, Wandell T. Richardson, Robert D. Richardson (Carla) and Andre M. Richardson; five grandchildren, Michael, Natalie, Taylor, Colby and Caleb; sisters, Lola M. Council (Leon), Margaret Orr ( Floyd), Gloria Dean Toney, Juanita Turner (Walter), Edna Bragg (John), Loretta Robinson; and brother, Leonard Robinson Jr.; and all her many nieces, nephews, aunts, cousins, and brothers and sisters-in-law.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012 at Olivet Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Adams officiating. Interment in Forest Hills Cemetery.The body will lie in state after noon today at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
