Ricki Horton

CLEVELAND Ricki Lee Horton, 56, passed away on Friday morning, June 8, 2012 in a local hospital.Ricki was born in Grand Rapids, Mich., on August 27, 1955 a son of the late Richard L. and Geraldine M. Horton. Ricki worked as a truck driver until his retirement. Ricki a veteran of the United States Army has made Cleveland his home for the past fourteen plus years. He was of the Baptist faith and a member of Covenant Baptist Church. Ricki was an animal lover and loving dad and "Papa".Ricki leaves here to cherish his memory, three daughters Crystal Mickens and husband Dee, Nicole Shedd, and Chelsea Lozano; one son, of Chattanooga, Tenn., Joshua Horton; stepmother Ila Horton, of Michigan; five sisters Mary Fraizer (Rodney), Kathy Rodgers (Don), and Sandy Chewining (Jerry) all of Michigan and Debbie Trebics (Bill), of Canada, and Cindy Horton, of Alabama; five grandchildren, Allyssa Stancil, Chase Shedd, Abigal Patterson, Noah Shedd, and Christopher Lozano; and a host of other extended family members and friends.A funeral service is planned for Wednesday, June 13, at 11 a.m. at the Covenant Baptist Church located at 249 Calhoun Road, Cleveland, TN 37323 with the Reverend Gary Higgins officiating. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday, at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Military Honors.The family will receive friends at the Covenant Baptist Church today from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. and also one hour prior to the funeral service on Wednesday.The family request that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the Chattanooga Heart Institute in memory of Ricki.You are encouraged to share a memory of Ricki and/or your personal condolences with his family by visiting his memorial web page and guest book at www.companionfunerals.com.Companion Funeral & Cremation Service of Cleveland was honored to assist the Horton family with these arrangements.
