FORTOGLETHORPE Jack R. Tapp, 87, passed away Saturday, June 16, 2012, peacefully at his home.He was born Aug. 23, 1924 to the late J.R. and Mary Ellen McCauley Tapp. He was a member of Fellowship Baptist Church, Chickamauga, Ga., and was retired from the Walker County Water and Sewer System.He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Frances Tapp; son, Kenneth L. Tapp; five brothers; and two sisters.Survivors include sons, Larry Tapp and wife, Patty, Donnie Tapp and wife, Brenda, Roger Tapp and wife, Wilda; daughter-in-law, Jan Tapp; sister, Rebecca Tapp Cofer and husband Bill; eight grandchildren; and a number of great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. today June 19, in the funeral home with Pastor Sam Riggs and Pastor Chris Eaves officiating.Interment will be in Lakewood Memory Gardens, South.Visit www.heritagefh.com to share words of comfort and view memorial tribute.Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Chattanooga.The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today, at Heritage Funeral Home and Crematory, Battlefield Parkway.
