David Chatman
David Charles "D.C." Chatman Sr., 70, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord, Friday, June 15, 2012.He was born in Fackler, Ala. on Feb. 24, 1942 to the late Derice Chatman and the late Katie Brydie.David was a product of Chattanooga public school system, and a member of Olivet Baptist Church. He was an avid fisherman and gardener, D. C. as he was affectionately called, loved his family and friends.He was preceded in death by his wife, LuRita Chatman; father, Derice Chatman; mother Katie Brydie; brother, Charles Brydie; and granddaughter, Maquita Chatman.He leaves to cherish his memories, sons, David Chatman Jr. and Tracy Freeman; sisters, Jack Brydie, Viola (Lloyd) Douthit, Arnetta Brydie and Carolyn (Ira) Stone, all of this city. A host of grandchildren, nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends.The body will lie in state after 2 p.m. today at Trammel Chapel of Hardwick and Sons Funeral Home.Funeral service will be noon Friday, June 22, in the funeral home chapel with Elder Sandra Bramlett officiating.
