Monique Cordell

PINSON Monique Jeanne Jeandel Cordell, 86, passed away on Sunday, June 24, 2012. Monique was born in Metz, France, on July 17, 1925. She met Bill, the love of her life, on a street in her hometown of Metz when Bill was in the Army during the reconstruction of France after World War II. A kind, witty, charming woman, Monique never knew a stranger and was loved by all. She was a wonderful wife, mother, mother-in-law and grandmother who will be missed dearly.She was preceded in death by her parents, Lucien Paul Jeandel and Renee Louis Jeandel, of Metz, France; and her daughter, Mary Jo Cordell.She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Robert W. "Bill to family, Bob to friends" Cordell; daughter, Karen Jean Williams and son-in-law, Rod Williams, of Sammamish, Wash.; grandchildren, Andrea Jeanne Williams, of McKinney, Texas and Amy Ruth Williams, of Houston, Texas; sister, Josette Zeman, of Paris, France; two nephews and many great-nieces and nephews.Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Thursday, June 28, 2012, at Jefferson Memorial Funeral Home.Services will be on at 2 p.m. Friday at Jefferson Memorial.Burial will follow at Jefferson Memorial Gardens East.Jefferson Memorial Trussville directing.
