Maria Victoria Flores Rogers passed from this life to her eternal home in Heaven on Friday, March 9, 2012, at Dana Farber/Brigham and Womens Hospital in Boston, Mass., surrounded by her family.Ms. Flores was born in Chattanooga and was a charter member of St. Jude Church.She was preceded in death by two brothers, Ricardo "Rick" and Carlos Flores.She is survived by her loving parents, Juan and Mollie Flores; brother, Juan Flores Jr. and his wife, Laura; her daughter, Stephanie, of Boston and her son, Jonathan, U.S. Air Force, currently stationed in Idaho and a granddaughter, Evelyn T. Also many aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins and nieces in Texas.Ms. Flores Rogers attended the American School in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and graduated from Notre Dame High School. She attended UT in Knoxville earning BA and MA degrees in education, Spanish and Latin American history. She taught UTKnoxville, McMinn High School, Killene High School in Texas, Leavenworth High School and the Army Command School also in Kansas. She also taught at Kadena High School, Okinawa Japan and Bonholder and Heidelberg, Germany. She was extremely versatile and gifted in many areas. She loved cross stitching, crossword puzzles, cooking, sewing, music and traveling. She spoke and taught several languages including Spanish, French, German and Japanese.A memorial service to honor and celebrate her beautiful life will be held at a later date.
