Mary Sutherland

RINGGOLD Mary Ruth Sutherland, 87, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2012.Mary lived in Catoosa County all her life. A member of First Baptist Church, Ringgold, Ga.She enjoyed the Joy Choir and her Love Sunday School Class. Mrs. Sutherland loved baseball, especially the Braves. She worked for Western Union for 32 years, then worked as a clerk for the Probate Court of Catoosa County, and ended her work career as Deputy Clerk of Superior Court of Catoosa County for 25 years. After retiring, she volunteered at Hutcheson Hospital in the Hutch for 10 years.She was preceded in death by her parents, Edwin Roscoe Williams and Zenobia Angeline Smith Williams; three sisters, Amalie Tate Parry, Eunice Campbell, Jo Daffron; five brothers, Dorsey Williams, J. C. Williams, Tom Williams, Charles Williams and Ray Williams; two half-brothers, Farris Williams and Edwin Williams. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Janice and Lebron Benton, Ringgold, Ga.; two granddaughters, Karen B. Mandall, Las Vegas, Nev., Lara (Lon) Langston, McDonough, Ga.; two great-granddaughters, Reagan B. Langston and Rachel M. Langston, McDonough, Ga.; several nieces and nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews. All loved by her.Funeral services will be held on 2 p.m. Friday in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jim Bailiff officiating.Interment will be in Anderson Cemetery.Memorial contributions may be made to the Music Ministry of First Baptist Church, 7611 Nashville St., Ringgold, GA 30736.The family will receive friends form 5-8 p.m. Thursday and 12-2 p.m. Friday at Heritage Funeral Home, Battlefield Parkway.
