SUMMERVILLE Rev. Marlin Leroy Starnes, 86, died Tuesday, May 8, 2012.Rev. Starnes came to Summerville from Delta Junction, Alaska where he pastored the First Baptist Delta Junction. He was former pastor of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, Emmanuel Baptist Church and Cove Road Baptist Church.Survivors include his wife, Neva Starnes; grandchildren, Jimmy Holbrook and Tammy Cupp; great-granddaughter, Alissa Hall; brother, Dennis Starnes; sisters, Lola Rook and Ruth Zymm.Funeral service is 2 p.m. Friday, May 11, 2012, at Cove Road Baptist Church.Visitation is 6 until 8 p.m. today. He will lie in state at the church from 1:30 until 2 p.m. on Friday.Mason Funeral Home is directing.
