John Hourihan

RINGGOLD John Michael "J." Hourihan, 59, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Nov. 2, 2012. He was born in South Amboy, New Jersey to the late, Patrick and Mary Hourihan and has lived in the North Georgia area since 1990. He was a member of The Net Church in Chattanooga, Tenn., and was a self-employed Contractor for more than 44 years and was the Owner and Operator of Jayco. He had spent the majority of his life building and this was his true passion, he also enjoyed socializing with his church family, gardening, camping, good food and listening to Jazz and Blues music.Survivors include his loving wife of more than 11 years, Sharon Hourihan, of Ringgold, Ga.; son, Arlin J. Hourihan, of Charleston, S.C.; daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and (Charles) Pittman, of Spruce Pine, N.C.; brother, Patrick Hourihan, of Ringgold, Ga.; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Rita and (Greg) Brandis, of Manahawkin, N.J., Patty Mayo, of Laurinburg, N.C. and Bernadette and (Craig) Meldrum, of Ramtown, N.J.; 6 grandchildren, Hunter, Jocelyn, Savanah, Hannah, Shelbey and Madyson; 2 great-grandchildren, Rosalie and Shane and several nieces and nephews.Memorial services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, Nov. 5, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Pastor Ryan May officiating. Burial will be private.The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. Monday until the time of service at the funeral home.
