Katie Ohta Nail, 85, of Hixson, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, Nov. 6, 2012.Katie was a favored daughter of Japan and a resident of the Chattanooga area for the past 46 years. She was employed for over 25 years at Erlanger Hospital as a Genetic Scientist. Katie was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and the Christ Care Group. She was a volunteer with the Hunter Museum and Ronald McDonald House. She was preceded in death by her parents, Hiro and Kikue Ohta; and a brother, Asatoshi Ohta.Katie is survived by her two daughters, Ruth and Doris; grandchildren, Ty and Wyatt Mobley and Destiny Finch.There will be no visitation at the funeral home.A Memorial Service for Katie will be held at 3 p.m. on Friday at Trinity Lutheran Church with Pastor Gary Schimmer officiating.Burial will follow in the Columbarium at the church.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Katies name to Ronald McDonald House, 200 Central Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37403.Please share your thoughts and memories at www.chattanooganorthchapel.com.Arrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory & Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
