Floyd Akins

Floyd Dewayne Akins, 78, died Friday, Nov. 9, 2012. He was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga. He attended Kirkman high school and was retired from Container Corp.He was preceded in death by his Parents Floyd and Maggie Akins; daughter Cindy Akins; and brother Raymond Akins.Survivors include his wife of 58 years Erma Akins; three daughters Teresa Akins, Delaine (Jerry) Long and Tina Heatherly; two sisters Agnes Johnson and Annette Rhodes; two Grandchildren Brittany and Lexie Heatherly; several great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren; and Several step-great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews , sister-in-laws and a host of friends and relatives. "Dad" will be greatly missed in all our lives. May he rest in peace.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Fred Smith officiating.
