Ruth LedfordCarter

ROSSVILLE G. Ruth Ledford-Carter, 84, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 10, 2012 in a local health care facility.A native of Lorado, W.V., she was raised in the Ft. Payne, Ala., area and was a graduate of DeKalb County High School. Following high school, she moved to the north Georgia area where she graduated from Walker Technical School and was a former member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.Mrs. Carter retired from Hutcheson Medical Center following twenty-five years of service as an L.P.N. She enjoyed gardening, reading, sewing and quilting and was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Chattanooga V.F.W. But most importantly, she loved to be a caregiver. Her passion to help others was the highlight of her life. She was preceded in death by her beloved aunt and uncle, Faye and Clarence Burdine; husband, William J. Ledford; son, Billy Ledford; grandson, Tony Argenbright; and great-grandson, Cameron Argenbright.Survivors include her daughters, Brenda Gail (John) Moore of Rossville and Donna Dotson, of Chickamauga; sister, Julia Christian, Kenova, WV; seven grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandsons.Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 13, at 1 p.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Rev. Ron Haley officiating.
