Derryle Bagley

Derryle Copelan Bagley, 94, passed on to be with our Lord on Sunday, Oct. 28, 2012, at the Manorhouse Assisted Living in Chattanooga.She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Mason Raymond Bagley, of Chesterland, Ohio; siblings, Lucy Cross (Marcenie), Irby (Ann) Copeland, Claudia (Hugh) Campbell, Julia (John) McIntosh, and Jack (Sally) Copelan; parents, Henry and Hattie Copelan; nephew, Isaac Cross Jr.; and nieces Diane (Ray)Ahrens and Mary Frances (Henry) Weil.Derryle was born in Greensboro, Ga., where she lived her early years. After marrying Mase, they traveled with the military. They moved to Chesterland, Ohio in 1960 and lived there until Derryle's resent move to Chattanooga. Derryle was a very lively and caring person, very supportive, and always loving to family and friends. She endured a lengthy illness but even in her illness, she thought of others first and never lost her sense of humor.She was member of Christ Presbyterian Church of Chesterland, Ohio and kept the food pantry there for many years. Derryle was a member of the Women's Circle as well as other community groups.Derryle is survived by her children, Pate Bagley, of Chattanooga, and Fred (Jo) Bagley, of Herndon, Va.; grandchildren, Deanna (Kenny) Allen, Lorri (Josh) Epstein, Mason and Nina Bagley; great-grandchild, Lydia Copelan Allen; nieces and nephews, Lee (Jane) White Jr., Henry (Barbara) Copeland, Louis (Carole) Copeland, Jack (Mimi) Copelan and George (Julie) Copelan; and her very dear friends, Marge Hrusch and Dora Jean Horstman.The family thanks the staff of the Weils of Chagrin Falls, Ohio, and the staff of Manorhouse.A special thanks for the excellent care and friendship provided by Louise Welch, Monika Kyles, Ann Gilbert, Gwen Chandler and Hospice of Chattanooga.The family will receive friends at 3 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 17, at First-Centenary United Methodist Church, Kate Lyle West Chapel.Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m. at the church with Rev.
