Garry Bailey

Garry Allen Bailey, 69, local artist and poet, passed away on Friday, Nov. 16, 2012.Mr. Bailey graduated from LaFayette High School and received his B.A. from the University of Georgia. For many years, he was owner of Bailey & Associates in Chattanooga, and Signs of the South in Chickamauga. His work as a free-lance artist consumed his time which he never grew tired of doing. Garry was preceded in death by his parents, Woodrow Wilson Bailey and Faye Daphene Bailey; and brother, Roger Dale Bailey.Left to cherish his memory are his children, Trenton Bailey, of Ringgold, Harper Green, of Roanoke, Va., and Whitney Lee Foster; brother, Woodrow "Gene" Bailey; sister, Nancy Dean, both of LaFayette; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.Private family services will be held at a later date.To share expressions of sympathy, visit lane-southcrestchapel.com.Per Mr. Bailey's wishes, please "drink a toast" to his memory.Arrangements are by the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home & Crematory, Rossville.
