SPRING CITY Helen H. Brown, 79, died Thursday, Nov. 15, 2012, at Erlanger Medical Center.Born in Pikeville, Tenn., Helen was the daughter of the late Frank and Camolyra Swafford Brown Sr. She was a graduate of Bledsoe County High School and received a masters degree from Tennessee Tech University in Cookeville. Helen came to Spring City in 1960. She was the band director for the elementary and high school for almost 30 years. After her retirement in 1987, Helen took up crafting. She participated in local craft shows for many years until her mothers illness took up most of her time. A lifetime lover of antiques, Helen enjoyed finding beautiful pieces and turning them into treasures. Right before her death, she celebrated buying her first new car! Helens unique personality and sense of humor will be missed by her family, her many former students and friends! She was a member of Wolf Creek Baptist Church in Spring City.Helen was preceded in. death by her brother, Ben Brown.Survivors include her brothers, Wendell (Charlotte) Brown, of Dayton and Frank (Marilyn) Brown Jr., of Knoxville; sister-in-law, Tina (David) Goodland, of Pikeville; nephews, Robert, Mark, Schawn, Stephen and William Brown; and nieces, Cynthia Ball and Heather Kline; and several great-nieces and nephews.A celebration of Helens life will be held on Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, at 2 p.m. at Wolf Creek Baptist Church in Spring City with Rev.
