Doris Lail

Doris Teas Lail died on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012, the date of her 75th birthday.She was born in 1937 in Nashville, and spent the majority of her childhood in Andrews, N.C. before spending the majority of her adult years in Chattanooga. She mastered the game of golf early in life and was a two time winner of the Tennessee Womens Seniors among many other amateur titles. She also served as the UTC Women's Golf Coach on a volunteer basis for several years.She was preceded in death by her son, Timothy William Lail.She is survived by her husband of 52 years James Walter Lail Sr; son James Walter Lail Jr; daughter-in-law, Dana Hood Lail; son, Michael Arling Lail; daughter-in-law, Ellen Gannaway Lail; and two grandchildren, James Walter Lail III and John Langdon Lail.Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church, 554 McCallie Ave, Chattanooga with Rev. Jerry Harwood officiating.The family would request in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to Ronald McDonald House Chattanooga, 200 Central Ave., Chattanooga, TN 37403.The family will receive friends from 4 until 7 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 23, 2012 at the funeral home and at the church on Saturday from 10 a.m. until the funeral at 11 a.m. SaturdayArrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 East Brainerd Road, Chattanooga.
