Buddy Moore

Alex Gene "Buddy" Moore, 89, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012.He was born Jan. 9, 1923 in Chattanooga to the late Alex and Ethel Moore. He was also preceded in death by his wife, June Currey Moore. Mr. Moore was a member of Concord Baptist Church and retired as a Yard Conductor from Norfolk Southern Railroad after 45 years.Mr. Moore was a 70 year member of United Transportation Union (UTU), 32 degree Mason in both the York and Scottish Rites, 50 year member of Mt. Moriah Council #95 Cryptic Masons of Chattanooga, 50 year Member of John Bailey Nicklin Chapter #49 Royal Arch Masons of Chattanooga and a member of Lookout Commandery No. 14 Knights Templar of Chattanooga. Buddy was also a member of the Wolftever Fishing Club for over 30 years and was a WWII U.S. Army veteran.Survivors include his son, Donald Gene Moore and wife Jeana Fleitz, of Harrison; daughter, Deborah Moore McLachlan and husband, Robert James McLachlan Jr., of Chattanooga; sister, Elynor Carmichael, of Harrison; nine grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 26, 2012, in the Valley View Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home with Rev.
