Garry Strickland

CHICKAMAUGA Garry Freeman Strickland, 60 departed this life Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012. He was born in LaFayette, Ga., to the late Parks and Annie Strickland. Garry retired from Crystal Springs after 34 years of service there and later worked for Mt. Vernon Mills for 10 years. He was a member of Community Baptist Church.He was also preceded in death by his sister, Patricia Ann Strickland.Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Pat Strickland, of Chickamauga; children, Charity (Stefeney) Strickland, of Rock Spring, Jeremy Strickland, of Chickamauga; siblings, James (Brenda) Strickland, of Chickamauga, Angela (Charles) Sosebee, of Rossville, Darlene Massey, of LaFayette; granddaughter, Breana Strickland, of Trion; several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at noon Tuesday, Nov. 27, in the chapel with reverends Mike Angel and Derek Angel officiating. Interment will follow in Antioch Cemetery.Family will receive friends after 11 a.m. until 9 p.m. today and prior to the service Tuesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to American Diabetes Association at diabetes.org/honor. Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson & Sons Funeral Home-Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia.
