Ms. Virginia Jo Gillispie Crutcher passed away on Thursday, Nov. 22, 2012, when the Lord visited His child and summoned her home.She was a native of Chattanooga, born on July 18, 1928 to the union of the late Rev. Searcy and Mrs. Elizabeth Bone Crutcher natives of Huntsville, Ala. She was the second of six children. She accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Second Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She later united with Bethel A.M.E. Church. During her adult years, she and her family united with St. James A.M.E. Church. On Nov. 26, 1997, she was baptized at New Emanuel Baptist Church and was faithful until her health failed. She was a faithful member to the Widows Harvest Ministry under the direction of Andy Mendonsa and was a member of Amicae' of the Gamma Iota Chapter of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority.Ms. Crutcher will be greeted in her heavenly home, by her parents, Rev. and Mrs. Searcy Crutcher; daughter, Antonella Hunt; grandson, Jerron M. Harris; sister, Elnora Crook; brothers, Willie James Crutcher and Russell M. Gillispie.She will be greatly missed by her family and friends: son, Larry (Saadia) Crutcher, Dayton, Ohio; daughters, Rosalind C. (Ronald) Harris, Collette Sales, Kamala Gillispie, Monique Graham, all of Chattanooga, Elisha Dailey, Atlanta; son, Jamal Gillispie, of Chattanooga and Ginnia (Todd) Tristan, of Irvine, Calif.; sisters, Carrie King, Lafayette, Ind., Bettye North, Los Angeles, Calif. and Joyce C. Stovall, Chattanooga; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.Visitation will be from 7-8 p.m. today at Taylor Funeral Home.Funeral service will be at noon Thursday at New Emanuel Baptist Church with Pastor Terrence Hannah as the eulogist.Burial: Greenwood Cemetery.Arrangements are by Taylor Funeral Home of Chattanooga Inc.
