CHICKAMAUGA Jerry Walter Stoner, 69, passed away Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012.He was a lifelong resident of North Georgia and was of the Nazarene faith. He was a member of the Tompkins Masonic Lodge #466 Free & Accepted Masons, charter member of Battlefield Daylight Lodge UD and a member of the Tompkins Chapter Order of the Easter Star #424. Jerry retired from Mayse Construction Co. in 2003 after 20 years as a truck driver.He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Stoner; parents, George Walter and Maxine Harris Stoner.Jerry is survived by his daughters, Joy Stoner Green, of Chickamauga and Marcia Tucker, of Flintstone; siblings, Joan Veazey, of Augusta, David Stoner, of Ringgold, Randy Stoner, of North Carolina and Janice Sue Stoner, of Florida; grandchildren, Matt Stoner, Brent West and Jhamie West; honorary granddaughter, Amanda Sams; and many nieces and nephews.The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, 2012, in the funeral home chapel with Brother Lester Norton officiating.Interment will follow at Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park. The family will receive friends after noon on Wednesday and prior to the service on Thursday.Arrangements by W.L. Wilson and Sons Funeral Home, Fort Oglethorpe.
