Margaret Nagle

Margaret Cooney Nagle passed away on Thursday, Sept. 27, 2012.She was born in New York City in 1930 and was the daughter of the late Elwin James and Agnes Byers Cooney.She is survived by a daughter, Georgia D. Nagle, of Atlanta; a son, Eugene M. Nagle, of Adairsville, Ga.; and two daughters-in-law, Fran Baskin and Amber Lanier Nagle.She was preceded in death by her late husband, George S. Nagle; and her beloved Cairn Terriers, Killer I and Killer II.She received a masters degree in English from Hunter College in New York and taught Freshman Composition for the Department of English at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga as a part-time faculty member.A voracious reader, Margaret loved books and read extensively about travel and British history. She enjoyed listening to operaespecially Spanish tenor, Jose Carreras. She attended estate sales and looked forward to finding treasures at antique shops. She was a resident of Wellington Place in Kennesaw, Ga., since 2009, where she entertained guests and staff with her wit and charm, and corrected their grammar.
