Velma Gravitt

Velma Gravitt, 71, of Chattanooga, passed away Sunday, Sept. 30, 2012.She was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and of the Christian Faith. Velma loved the time she spent at Orange Grove School in Chattanooga and the time she spent with her family.Velma was preceded in death by her parents, Robert M. and Bertha Kirkland Gravitt; four sisters; and six brothers.She is survived by her sister, Letricuce "Teresa" (Ronald) Gordon, of Rossville; brothers, Ron Gravitt, of Ringgold and Robert Gravitt, of LaFayette; several nieces and nephews; and caregivers, Phyllis, Marilyn, Tina, Elizabeth and many others.The funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012 in the funeral home chapel with Minister Mike Lowery officiating. Interment will follow in Lomenick Cemetery, East Ridge.The family will receive friends after 1 p.m. today and prior to the service on Wednesday.Arrangements by W.L.
