Earl Spurgeon

Earl L. Spurgeon, 58, of Ooltewah, passed away Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at his residence.Mr. Spurgeon was a loving husband, father and grandfather, and was known as "Pap" to his grandkids. He worked as a truck driver for over 20 years, served in the U.S. Navy, and was of the Baptist faith. He loved animals and raised both horses and beagles and was a huge Alabama football fan. Earl was preceded in death by his father, Earl Spurgeon; and paternal grandparents, R.J. and Helen Hill; and grandfather, Henry Spurgeon.Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Catherine"Kaye" Spurgeon; daughters, Brandy (Chris) Jones and Katie Spurgeon; son, Adam (Kate) Spurgeon; grandchildren, Chase Jones, Courtney Jones and Kayson Spurgeon; mother, Eunice Turner; sisters, Doris Rogers and Linda Hoskins and brother, Lloyd Steven Spurgeon.Visit www.heritagefh.com to share words of comfort to the family.The family will receive friends 4-8 p.m. Friday at Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 East Brainerd Road.
