CHICKAMAUGA Mack Arthur Heard, 70, of Chickamauga, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012.He had lived in the North Georgia area for most of his life and was a member of Clifton Hills Baptist Church. He loved fishing and enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a kind hearted man who always considered others needs before his own and was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be greatly missed by all that knew him.He was preceded in death by his parents, Cliff and Connie Heard; brother, Ray Heard; three sisters, Mildred Hartman, Judy Volzke and Ruth Brown; and grandson, Cody Heard.Survivors include his loving wife of more than 48 years, Lynn Cole Heard of Chickamauga; daughter and son-in-law, Kellie (Danny) Edwards, of Ringgold, Ga.; son and daughter-in-law, Greg & (Kelly) Heard, of Rossville; three sisters, Polly Hudson and Pat Dietz, both of Chattanooga, and Grace Morgan of Flintstone, Ga.; three grandchildren, Brennan, Lucas and Landon; and several nieces and nephews.Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. Friday, Oct. 5, 2012, in the Fort Oglethorpe Chapel with Brother Danny Edwards and Rev. Brian Kurtz officiating.Burial will follow in Tennessee-Georgia Memorial Park.The family will begin receiving friends after 2 p.m. today and prior to the service on Friday at the funeral home.In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital, in memory of Cody Heard, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105, 800-805-5856.Arrangements by W.
