Gladys McClendon

WHITWELL Gladys V. McClendon, 93, passed away Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012. She was preceded in death by her husband, JC McClendon; granddaughter, Brenda "BJ" Borden; parents, George and Edna Vandergriff; brother, George Vandergriff; sisters, Thelma Thompson, Louise Hartman, Jo Swafford, Neva Rogers; son-in-law, Danny Long. Mrs. McClendon was a member of Mtn. Creek Baptist Church and a charter member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church.Those left to cherish her memories are daughter, Geraldine Long, of Whitwell; two grandchildren, Elisa (Danny) Green, Terresa Tate and Tony Wallace, of Whitwell; four great-grandchildren, Jason Gilliam, James Baggett, Tara Morrow, Cal Tate; six great-great-grandchildren, Aaron Gilliam, Spring, Summer, and Winter Gilliam, Kadence Morrow, Darius Tate; sisters, Zula Ridley, of Red Bank, Bobbie Tedders, of Knoxville sister-in-laws, Annie Ruth Collier, Mildred McClendon; brother-in-law, BA McClendon; many nieces and nephews.Family will receive friends noon - 9 p.m. today.Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 9, in the funeral home chapel with Rev.
