William "Bill" J. Miller, 86, of Chattanooga, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, Oct. 12, 2012.Bill was born and raised in Huntington, W.Va., and was a graduate of East Huntington High School. He served our country during World War II in the Army Air Force where he was stationed in India. After the war they moved to Chicago, then Northern Indiana before relocating to Chattanooga in 1961. Bill retired from Combustion Engineering in 1981 after 34 years of service in Indiana and Chattanooga. Bill and his wife owned and operated Norma Jeans Antiques, in Hixson, for 15 years. He was a founding member of North Hixson Church of Christ and was very avid in establishing other churches in the area.He was preceded in death by his daughter, Bonnie Moses; and his parents, Roscoe and Minnie Miller.Bill is survived by his wife of 67 years, Norma Jean Miller; son, Mark (Karen) Miller; granddaughter, Rachel Moses; grandsons, Nick Miller and Adam Moses.The family will receive friends from 1 to 3 p.m. today at the North Chapel.A celebration of Bills life will follow at 3 p.m. today at the North Chapel with Ministers Bill Walton and Jordan Shouse officiating.Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens.Please share your thoughts and memories at www.chattanooganorthchapel.comArrangements are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, TN 37343.
