TRACY CITY George W. Kilgore, 83, of Nixa, Mo., passed away on Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at the Christian Health Care in Nixa.George was born on Sept. 26, 1929, in Sewanee, Tenn. to Clarence E. Kilgore Sr. and Theona Haynes Kilgore. He worked for the Dupont Co. as foreman for eight years in Chattanooga. In 1957 he moved to Texas where he was employed by Albritton Engineering as assistant personal manager, plant manager and safety director. In 1959 George met and married Irmgard Kreuzen Gilmore. From 1967 until retirement in 1988 he was employed by the Cabot Corp. a Fortune 250 Company. The last 15 years he served as Corporate Director of Safety. As overseer of safety programs he regularly traveled to the companies manufacturing plants in Napon, Malaysia, Australia, Europe, South America, Canada and the U.S. George was a member of Ozark United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge #466 of Fort Oglethorpe, Ga. and the Nixa Lions Club.Surviving is his wife, Irma of the home; two sons, Gary and wife, Ann, of Spring Hill, Tenn., Alan and wife, Debbie of Taiwan, R.O.C.; two brothers, Clarence Jr. and wife, Mary Jo, of Tracy City, Tenn., and David and wife, Judy, of Chattanooga; two sisters, Catherine Flury and Ruth Roberts, both of Tracy City, Tenn.; grandson, Cody Kilgore and granddaughter, Shana Williams (Brandon); and two great-granddaughters, Cheyenne and Sierra Williams. Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Oct. 19, 2012, in the City Cemetery, Tracy City, Tenn., with Minister Ray Winton and Rev.
